Media and infertility

We all know the media tends to hype up the outlier cases of infertility like people having 8 babies at once but what isn't out there so much are the every day people. Infertility impacts 1 in 8... let that sink in 1 in 8. We all deal with it differently and have different means with which to resolve our infertility. The sad part is it usually comes down to money both treatment and adoption are very very expensive. In the past week there have been many stories and I can't even bring myself to read them because I know I will scroll down and read the comments most of which are completely ignorant and full of judgement. The stories in the past two days involve a woman fired from her job at a catholic school for doing IVF and a woman supposedly pregnant with 9 babies on top of that I did read an article about a celebrity adopting and even there you could find ignorant comments about IVF which are completely out of place. If you are infertile you know what I am talking about and if you aren't can't we just try a little empathy and less ignorance?

  1. Amen. There is too little empathy and understanding in our world today. We are too quick to judge and make our nasty little comments.

    Well said.
